Everybody knows about Christmas Carol story; it has been reproduced again and again over the years.
If you see the way I see it, I think that Charles Dickens was cynically trying to get the
rich readers to share with him. A social problem, where the rich gets richer, and the poor gets poorer by the day. You know that the government (or Federal Reserve) prints a certain amount of money with careful considerations, taking into account the calculation of how that amount of money would contribute towards the world's economy. There are only a fixed amount of money and a lot of us work so hard everyday to seize that fixed amount of money. The bunch, or a person who has more skills than the others get more money.
This plot aligns with the story, where Uncle Scrooge wins so much because of his
special skills. Uncle Scrooge needs to share with the others so that the rest of the villagers will not come to a riot and kill Uncle Scrooge. He is saving himself by being nice sincerely. But, if he can seize the money in a more subtle way, where he can give to others in a more obvious way, he will win the society battle.
If you see it again, if Charles Dickens were a thug who asks for money, and you don't really want to give him your money, you could do what the book producer did. You could make him famous, and he would stop bothering you and your money. He should be busy handling all his fans.
